Ramsay slams Buckingham Palace food
Gordon Ramsay has slammed the quality of food at Buckingham Palace calling It ‘pre-historic’. Ramsay is well known for his foul mouthed comments about other chefs. This time he attacked the chefs at Buckingham Palace who are led by chef Mark Flanagan.
Ramsey was commenting on the food that he ate during a reception held at Buckingham Palace. He talks of how he was struggling to swallow the food he was eating as The Queen was coming over to talk with him.
The kitchens at Buckingham Palace were rebuilt as part of the Queen’s Gallery project, which saw the expanded Queen’s Gallery take over part of the old kitchens. The kitchen is in the southwestern corner of the palace. This has the advantage of being near the ballroom where banquets take place, but the major disadvantage of being a substantial distance from the private apartments where The Queen lives.
Soon after The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh moved into Buckingham Palace the Duke installed some cooking equipment into the private apartments because by the time food came from the kitchens, it was cold!
